Nourishing Bodies, Fuelling Curiosity

Nutrition Option

Families may choose if they would like their child to be provided food while at The WONDER School or if they will be providing daily food for their child. Parents who choose not to opt in to the meal plan, must ensure their child has a healthy, well-portioned breakfast, lunch and snacks packed every day that do not require heating or refrigeration. The WONDER School is a nut-free centre.

Optional Meal Plan Fees:

Full-time care: $200/month

Part-time care: $150/month

If your child requires a meal: $15/day

For WONDER's Monthly menu

At the WONDER school, we believe that nourishing little bodies is just as important as nurturing young minds. Our optional nutrition program provides a well-rounded morning snack, balanced lunch, and afternoon snack—all thoughtfully planned in accordance with Canada’s Food Guide and Alberta Health Services Nutrition Guidelines. Designed to support healthy development and fuel busy, curious learners, our meals are both nutritious and child-friendly, making mealtime enjoyable while taking one more thing off parents’ plates.

Our goal is to ensure every snack contains at least 2 food groups and every lunch includes at least 3 food groups. Children with allergies or dietary restrictions, such as gluten or dairy intolerance, will be given alternative food choices (to the extent that we can accommodate).

Children will be given the option of having milk or water at each lunch. Infants and Toddlers will be offered 3% Milk at morning snack and lunch, three years and up will be offered 2% milk at either morning snack or lunch, depending on the meal.

Popcorn and whole grapes are banned by Alberta Health in Childcare facilities as they pose choking risks. We will not serve either of these items nor will we allow them to be sent from home
